The field is set for the 2011 SELC Championships. The Gamecocks are set for a "revenge" matchup with the Virginia Tech Hokies. Stay tuned as I will be at the SELC Championships to give you all the pagentry and excitement of this grand event!
As you recall the GAMECOCKS had that heart breaking weekend losing a Double Overtime thriller 9-8 in CLEMSON and then losing 13-8 to VIRGINIA TECH 14 hours later in Columbia. The GAMECOCKS have lost the last five meetings with the HOKIES dating back to 2007. On the upside, desipte being outplayed by the HOKIES in their April 9th meeting, scoring wise the GAMECOCKS stayed with the HOKIES for the final 3 quarters 8-7 (HOKIES). The 5-0 first quarter by the HOKIES was one of the big difference makers.
