So during the game there was a strange incident where a stick came flying to the mid-field stripe. Now I understand what happened and we have the proof!
- VIRGINIA TECH''s #7 MATTHEW GIANELLI gets "YARD SALED", I think by #GAMECOCKS #45 MIKE DELBIANCO. MATTHEW's stick lands right side down with the ball trapped in the head.
- Keep your eye on the stick. Quick thinking by #GAMECOCKS #45 MIKE DELBIANCO as he "KICKS the STICK" to dislodge the ball. The stick goes flying out to the mid-field stripe.
- As I recall the officals whistles went wild when the stick went flying. I thnk the officals wanted to give the GAMECOCKS a penalty for the "KICK", while the GAMECOCKS complained to the officals that the ball was trapped in the stick head and kicking it was the only way to dislodge it!
- In the end, I dont think a penalty was awarded, but I do think that VIRGINA TECH was awarded the ball.
- In the last photo, the offical #50 was totally lost as to what was going on! His "Bud" from 40 yards away had to straighten him out!But why am I not surprised, you would know if you were at the game!
Just one of those wacky moments in lacrosse! AND YOU WERE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
